The Honey Bee-stro Garden at Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival
The annual Flower and Garden Festival is underway in Epcot at Walt Disney World! If you want to see all that is offered during the festival, check out this post for a quick overview of the entire festival!
Some of the things people look forward to the most during the festival are the food and beverage options. New for this year, The Honey Bee-stro joins fourteen other outdoor kitchens in providing you with the latest culinary creations for you to enjoy. Hosted by the National Honey Board, this kiosk features several dishes and beverages all themed around honey. So let's dive in and read more about the yummy offerings at this tasty kitchen.
Roasted Cauliflower with Buckwheat Honey Carrot Puree, Wild Rice Pilaf, Asparagus, Honey Blistered Grapes and Sunflower Brittle (GF) (V) – $4.50
If you are looking for one of the more healthy snack options at the festival, then this is the dish for you. This is also a great option for guests who abide by vegetarian and gluten-free diets. The wild rice, cauliflower, and asparagus paired well with the natural sweetness from the honey in the carrot puree. The small pieces of sunflower brittle also added a unique texture to the combined flavors.
Honey Tandoori Chicken Flatbread with White Cheddar Cheese, charred vegetables, Clover Honey Sour Cream and Micro Watercress – $5.25
This dish gives you the most bang for your buck when it comes to portion size. It was larger than I expected and could easily be shared with another person. The chicken wasn’t dry and was very tender. The generous portion of chicken went well with the roasted vegetables and the creamy sour cream. If anything could have made this dish better it would have been the addition of a little more cheese.
Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake with Orange Blossom Honey Ice Cream garnished with Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses – $4.75
This dessert was the star of this festival kitchen. If you are a fan of cheesecake, this is a must-try! The creamy mascarpone and the sweetness of the honey came together perfectly. The waffle cookie garnish also makes a great utensil to scoop up some of that cheesecake goodness. Paired with the cheesecake is a very uniquely flavored ice cream that is very light and refreshing. Just when you think that this couldn’t possibly taste better, the ice cream is topped with drizzled honey. Lastly, to round out all of the greatness of this dessert, two crispy meringue kisses are included to give a nice, crunchy contrast to the other items of the dish.
Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze – $4.25
This cobbler in a cup is is a great dessert drink offering at this kiosk. The peach and honey flavors come forward as you sip and enjoy this frosty beverage. The added pie crumbles also help accent the top of the drink to give that authentic cobbler taste. For an added kick, you have the option to add blueberry vodka in the mix for even more fruit flavor.
In addition to these yummy dishes, they also have some delicious beverages that pair nicely with the food.
Florida Orange Groves Winery Orange Blossom Honey Wine, St. Petersburg, FL $5.00
Orange Blossom Brewing Co. Orange Blossom Pilsner, Orlando, FL $4.25
Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze with Blueberry Vodka $10.25
