Four Ways You Can Take a Star Wars Disney Vacation

You've watched the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer at least 1,000 times.

You've developed theories about the new characters and their relationships with the old.

You pre-ordered your tickets for the movie, and...

You're planning your costume for your first viewing.

Clearly, the Force is strong with you.

But how can you grow stronger in the Force even after December 18? Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line has your answer with four Galactic Vacation options.

1. Take an Intergalactic Cruise

Star Wars Day at Sea is a day-long special event on select sailings of the Disney Fantasy in early 2016. Cruisers will enjoy everything included in an amazing Disney Cruise, including these Star Wars events:

  • Onboard meet and greets with Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, Boba Fett and Chewbacca.

  • Youngling activities like Jedi Training and themed crafts and games.

  • Friendly family competition during a Star Wars trivia game.

  • Screening of the first 6 Star Wars movies and the animated series Star Wars Rebels.

  • Star Wars deck party and fireworks show.

All Star Wars Day at Sea events are on 7-day cruises to the Caribbean, departing from Port Canaveral, FL.

2. Choose your Destiny with runDISNEY

No matter your allegiance, runDisney has the event for you! Disneyland plays host to the Star Wars Rebel Challenge, while Walt Disney World hosts the Star Wars Half Marathon—The Dark Side. Each event features:

  • Star Wars half marathon,

  • Star Wars 10K,

  • Star Wars 5K, and

  • runDisney kids races,

So runners of every level can join the fun. With costumed runners, courses through the parks, and on-course and finish line entertainment, it's a Disney-style race!

3. Feel the Force at Disneyland Park

Season of the Force is an all-new event at Disneyland Park designed for Star Wars fans.

  • Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple gives younglings the chance to practice their saber skills with a Jedi Master in ancient Jedi Temples. Now, the experience introduces new characters and a new villain from the Disney XD series, Star Wars Rebels.

  • Star Tours—The Adventures Continue is a 3-D space flight simulator that launches riders into a thrilling race across ever-changing scenes directly from the Star Wars saga. For a limited time, all riders are guaranteed to enter at least one scene from the new movie Star Wars:The Force Awakens.

  • Hyperspace Mountain is a limited-time reimagining of the classic Space Mountain attraction where guests soar through an X-wing starfighter battle.

Season of the Force at Disneyland Park began its inaugural year last weekend with Star Wars-themed food, limited edition merchandise, and character meet and greets. No end date has been announced for the event.

4. Experience Star Wars at Walt Disney World

Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World has all-new ways to experience Star Wars every day throughout the year. Like Disneyland, Hollywood Studios will offer Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple and Star Tours—The Adventure Continues, plus these new features:

  • Launch Bay—an immersive area completely dedicated to the Star Wars saga. See props and costumes from the movies, meet Chewbacca and Darth Vader, and play Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition featuring an exclusive Star Wars Toy Box.

  • Tatooine Traders and Watto's Grotto—two permanent shopping destinations where the ultimate Star Wars fans can find exclusive and limited edition gear, including a "Build Your Own Droid" station.
