Top 5 Must Do's at the Magic Kingdom

I've been going to the Magic Kingdom since I was fresh out of the womb, litearlly. I love this place. It is filled with magic, laughter, and moments that your family will cherish forever. With that being a given, here are my top 5 "MUST-DOs" at the Magic Kingdom.

1. Festival of Fantasy Parade.

This newest parade offering at the MK is fantastic. From the gorgeous floats to seeing Anna, Elsa & Olaf right in front of your face -- how can this not be number one? I like to watch the parade in Frontierland. It is just as magical, it comes a bit quicker than if you are waiting on Main Street, and the crowds aren't generally as heavy. Oh, did we mention the fire-breathing Maleficent? She is a definite MUST SEE!

2. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

This attraction is fun for all ages! You get your own 'blaster' and you try to rack up points as fast as you can. And, who doesn't love a little competition amongst family? If you are really good, you will start to find where the targets are that rack up the most points. Don't google it though -- that would be cheating.

3. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

My dad forced me on this ride when I was 7 years old and I was scared to death. All of these years later, I'm glad he did. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad encompasses everything that Walt Disney World is meant to be. It is themed fantastically, the queue line is beautiful, and the ride is thrilling -- yet not too thrilling for young ones. I love BTMR and make sure to ride it each and every time I go. (PS - if you think the Magic Kingdom version is great, you should hop on over to Disneyland to ride their version. It is re-imagined and better than ever!)

4. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

This is the latest attraction in the New Fantasyland and it is breathtaking. It is the only attraction that you can walk all the way around and is a true joy from start to finish. Here are a few tips to make sure you get the most out of it...

1. Get a Fastpass

2. Sit in the back car of the train - the ride is so much better.

3. Get a Fastpass

5. Meeting Mickey on Main Street

A trip to the Magic Kingdom is never complete without meeting the "Head Cheese" himself. And Mickey Mouse has put on his magician gear and has planted himself on Main Street USA to greet all of his guests. And -- he talks to you! Did you hear this? Mickey actually talks to you! It's worth the price of admission alone.

PS - For an extra special "Must Do" -- check out the Country Bear Jamboree. An old classic that some walk right on past! It was at the Magic Kingdom when the park was very young on March 4, 1972 and never lets me down!
