Toy Story Land is Open
In 1995, the first Toy Story was released and introduced us to an all-new take on animation. Its charm and humor connected with young viewers and adults alike, to create an unforgettable experience. The Grand Opening of Toy Story Land last weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was exactly the same way!
The theme of this new park shrinks you down to the size of a Green Army Man while all the other toys are large, including a life size Woody doll welcoming you into the park. With two news rides, a new quick service restaurant and lots of photo ops, it’s going to be a must-see for your next Walt Disney World vacation. Here’s a breakdown of some of our favorites from the new Toy Story Land:
SLINKY DOG DASH has got to be my favorite new addition in Toy Story land! It’s an incredible surprise for those measuring 38” or taller. On this ride you experience the sensation of riding on the back of Slinky Dog. The new up and down motion feels like you are truly riding on Slinky Dog’s coils over and over again. You will want to ride this one again and again but be aware that lines are long right now. Be sure to grab a Fastpass+ for your next trip if you can!
ALIEN SWIRLING SAUCERS has a height requirement of only 32” making this a ride perfect for small children. The alien cars fit two people comfortably and move in a figure 8 pattern, at a medium speed so that it doesn’t overwhelm those who would get typically get sick on a Tea Cup spinning type attraction. The bright colors draw you in immediately and at night everything lights up to create an amazing out of this world experience! This ride is located next to a life size Buzz statue that will be an ever-popular place for family photos.
WOODY’S LUNCH BOX is the new Quick Service restaurant in Toy Story Land. This adorable outdoor eatery features items such as Grilled Sandwiches, Pop Tarts and even Grown-Up drinks as shown on the adorable hand-written menu located outside the restaurant. The seating is all outdoors, so keep this in mind when visiting during the hotter months. The décor has everything that you would find in a standard lunch box including a life size thermos, and it is conveniently located next to Toy Story Midway Mania.
TOY STORY MANIA although not a new attraction at Hollywood Studios, has experienced a total revamp for the Grand Opening. The décor inside and out is now fresher, brighter and fits perfectly with its new entrance inside of Toy Story Land. To help make the waiting fun, there are multiple photo opportunities in the updated line as well as a new and improved talking Mr. Potato Head! They have also added an additional track so even if you have ridden this in the past, you should be sure to ride it again!
ALL THE DETAILS are absolutely incredible! From the life size footprints, to the popsicle bench, to the character meet and greets with the Green Army Men, you will not be disappointed with this incredible addition to Walt Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Experiencing it first hand for the Grand Opening was such an honor, and our Travelmation team was thrilled to be one of the first to participate in this memorable event.
